| 2007 Hosmer Winery Riesling "Estate Grown" Winery: Hosmer Winery Vintage: 2007 Wine Name/Vineyard: "Estate Grown" Wine Category: Riesling Grape blend: 100% Riesling Region: Finger Lakes State or country: NY Price: $12 Cases produced: 349 KWG Score: 89.3 (based on 3 reviews) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good (89.99-87) Review date: June 22, 2008 Wine Review: This is the second vintage in a row that we have recommended this wine from Cayuga Lake. This very pale yellow wine opens with a fragrant ripe pear like bouquet with a touch of lychee. On the palate, this wine is a bit racy, has nicely integrated acidity with mouthwatering ripe green apple flavors and citrus notes. The finish is refreshing and lingers nicely. This would be a fine wine with ham. Enjoy – Ken Winemaker Notes: The 2007 Riesling, with all it's decency to uphold the abilities of Riesling in the Finger lakes, does so in a fashion only to resemble that of a great statesman. Full of vim and vigor, it holds a magnificent abundance of peach and honeyed lemon up front to bring about a wonderful level of acidity to keep the sweet in check with lime and Anjou and Bosc pear flavors. Organic status: not organic Buy it: Use 1000 Corks to find stores that sell Hosmer 2007 Riesling.
