2007 Lionheart Pinot Noir "Sonoma Coast![]() Winery: Lionheart Vintage: 2007 Wine Name/Vineyard: "Sonoma Coast Wine Category: Pinot Noir Grape blend: 100% Pinot Noir Region: Sonoma Coast State or country: CA Price: $40 Cases produced: 48 KWG Score: 89 (based on 1 review) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good (89) Review date: April 30, 2009 Wine Review: Lionheart was a new winery for me. It made a Very Good first impression in a blind flight of Pinots I recently covered. This very bright candy apple red wine opens with an attractive strawberry and cranberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and savory with fresh raspberry flavors. There were notes of spice throughout as well. The finish is dry and lingers slightly. This very easy going Pinot is quite quaffable and would pair nicely with lasagna. Enjoy - Ken Winemaker Notes: The wine is a blend of four clones, resulting in a concentrated, balanced complex wine. The wine is a deep ruby with violet hues. The medium intensity aromas are candied rose petal, cola, cherry, brambleberry, blueberry, and boysenberry. The wine has velvety tannins, high integrated acidity, and flavors matching the aromas but with a long red cherry finish. The wine will be ready to drink at release in early Fall 2008 and well suited for many dishes such as turkey, duck, pork and lamb dishes. The acidity provides excellent aging potential from 2008 to 2014. Organic status: not organic Subscribers: Have you tried this wine? Rate it.(Not a subscriber?
