Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from 12C was a star in our recent blind tasting. It opens with a black currant and oak bouquet with hints of black cherry, graphite and leather. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well-balanced, smooth, and savory. The flavor profile is a mineral infused black currant and blackberry blend with notes of black cherry and refined minerality. We also detected hints of black tea and dark chocolate mixed in. This Cab has a great finish and its dry and dusty tannins drift away for what seems like forever. The Panel suggested pairing this terrific Cab with a New York strip steak. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Deep and brilliant violet in the glass coupled with amazing clarity, this wine is a showstopper at first sight. Aromas of huckleberry, slate, currants and distinct Rutherford loam notes flow across the palate ending in a rush of smooth and polished tannins. The mid-palate and into the finish this wine gains momentum and precision; loaded with perfectly ripened fruit and powerful yet refined tannins that frame a 30 second finish. Drink this wine in its youth with a short decant or let integrate for 2-5 years and be rewarded with a perfectly aged beauty. One of the most complex and layered versions of Beckstoffer Georges III vineyard I have ever made.
