Wine Review: This bright red colored Gamay from Canada opens with a violet and red raspberry bouquet with hints of earthy loam and maraschino cherry. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and savory. The flavor profile is gentle cherry and loam blend with notes of oolong tea and meat stick. I also detected hints of gentle black currant, sage, and touch of black licorice at the very end. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins stick around for a little while. This is a nice summer red. I would serve is slightly chilled with a salmon burger. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Color: Brilliant light ruby.
Nose: Aromas of red cherry, tobacco leaf, white pepper and tapioca over notes of peppermint, cinnamon and ginger.
Palate: Medium in body with a creamy, pomegranate-tinged attack; the mid-palate is centered on juicy red currant fruit woven into refined tannins; the edges are supple, while delicate acidity provides lift and definition throughout; the tannins subside on the back end, giving way to concentrated black raspberry and blueberry fruit and lingering, savory accents of fresh thyme and sage.
Food Pairings: Tomato based pizza or pasta, Moroccan-style power bowls, or vegetarian paella.
Ageability: Best consumed 2022 through 2025.
