Wine Review: This pitch-black colored Malbec from Colomé opens with a blackberry and forest floor bouquet with hints of violet, boysenberry, fig, and prune. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and seamless. The flavor profile is black coffee and blackberry blend with notes of graphite and black currant. We also detected some hints of bay leaf, wet clay, and Mounds bar. The finish is dry, and its sticky dusty tannins last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would suggest decanting this Malbec before pairing it with beef bourguignon and a grilled leg of lamb.
