Wine Review: This white gold colored Pinot Gris from Oregon is one of the best Pinot Gris that I have covered in a while. It opens with a mild apple and pear like bouquet with a hint of wet stone. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic, round and voluptuous. The flavors profile is a tasty mild Bosc pear with nicely integrated minerality and a faint hint of lemon verbena. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away so nicely. This wine is very food friendly and would be a perfect pairing for New England baked cod with Ritz cracker crumbs. It is also a steal a $17. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The Cristom Pinot Gris is fermented in stainless steel tanks and does not spend any time in oak barrels. It has a certain creaminess that comes from the several months that the wine spends on it lees. Typically, the wine has bright citrus-blossom aromas that range from tangerine zest to lime blossom. Apple, pear and melon are the fruit flavors that are often noted on the palate. This is a bright and lively wine that offers a broad flavor profile. It has a very natural affinity with food.
