Wine Review: This slightly opaque dark ruby colored Cab opens with a mild smoky oak and blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very nicely balanced, and quite smooth. The flavor profile is a gentle black currant with notes of oak and black cherry. The finish is dry and its medium tannins are dusty and sticky. I imagined enjoying this Cab with a thick cut New York strip steak. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Aromatically this vintage seems to offer slightly more in the way of dark red/purple fruits, with cassis, anise, and slight notes of baked plums, along with cedar, vanilla and slight caramel notes. The toasty oak comes forward with a bit of time in the glass. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied with swirling flavors of ripe fruit/vanilla creme/anise/cinnamon. The finish is long and silky, with soft tannins giving way to fresh fruit flavors as the wine sensations slowly fade.
