Wine Review: This deep purple colored Syrah and Cab based blend opens with a red currant and black cherry bouquet with hints of cranberry and blueberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is smooth, silky, and extremely well-balanced. The flavor profile is a blend of blueberry and refined graphite along with notes of black coffee and mocha. We also detected hints of strawberry, cherry, and oak. The finish is dry, and its fine dusty tannins are nicely extended. The Panel would pair this red blend with steak frites. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The 2018 Mayote boasts an opaque purple-black color with explosive aromas of violet, lilac, boysenberry, black cherry, and blackberry pie. The palate delivers prodigious flavors of black and blue fruits with hints of vanilla bean, pencil shaving, licorice, cigar ash and chocolate-covered cherries. The tannins are silky and well-integrated, allowing the wine’s beautiful freshness and complexity to resonate across a long, enduring finish.
