Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and deep garnet colored Red Blend from DAOU opens with a strawberry licorice and black cherry bouquet with hints of cedar and lilac. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated moderate acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth, seamless and clean. The flavor profile is graphite and black currant blend with notes of oak and blackberry. We also picked up some hints of black licorice, oak, and dark chocolate. The finish is dry, and its well managed fine dusty tannins are very nicely sustained. The Tasting Panel would pair this Red Blend with a porterhouse steak or a pot roast. Enjoy – KWGTP
