Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Merlot based blend from DAOU opens with a black currant and ripe black cherry bouquet with hints of cedar, coffee grounds, and blackberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, very smooth, subtly layered, and nicely coats your mouth. The flavor profile is graphite and black raspberry blend with notes of cedar and light red currant. We also detected some hints of vanilla, black cherry, dark chocolate, and cedar in the mix. The finish is dry, and its managed dusty tannins are very nicely sustained. The Tasting Panel would pair this red blend with a Kona crusted New York strip steak or with a Hungarian goulash. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Micho is our signature blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, showcasing the elegance and concentration that can only be attained on DAOU Mountain. The 2021 vintage boasts a near-opaque dark purple hue in the glass, foreshadowing the experience to come. Aromas of raspberry, blueberry, blackberry jam and leather yield to notes of toasted coconut, sage, maple syrup and cooked cherry. A mouthwatering palate is flush with impressions of fresh raspberry, fruit leather, toasted almond and mocha. Bright tannins and balanced acidity bring energy to an impressively long finish.
