Wine Review: This darkish ruby colored Pinot Noir from Davis Bynum opens with a cinnamon, dried strawberry, and red raspberry bouquet with hints of birch bark, lavender, and clay. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, zesty, and bright. The flavor profile is a cinnamon and red plum blend with notes of red cherry licorice. We also detected some hints of craisin, cedar, thyme, and red raspberry tea. The finish is dry, and its mild dusty tannins linger nicely. We would pair this Pinot with Coq au vin or with a pork roast with spiced apples. Enjoy – Ken & Mark

Winemaker Notes: Fresh fruit aromas, silky tannins, fine acidity, and subtle spice nuances are traditional hallmarks of this wine. The 2021 vintage of Dutton Ranches shows deep color, ripe strawberry, spicy clove, and a floral note. The oak plays with the wine but is always in the background, as the fruit is center stage, and complexity fills it out. The palate is pleasingly rich but with a measure of acidity to lift, and its softness on the finish has a touch of fine tannins for aging.
