Wine Review: This inky garnet colored Syrah opens with blueberry, oak, and port wine bouquet with hints of clay. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, smooth, and silky. The flavor profile is blackberry and black licorice blend with notes black olive, gravely minerality and black pepper. We also detected hints of oolong tea, shitake mushrooms, and a touch of prune towards the end. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins build-up and linger for quite a while. The Tasting Panel would decant this Syrah initially and then pair it with a Brazilian skirt steak with golden garlic butter or with a grilled butterflied leg of lamb. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The Syrah shows its full expression on the sandy clay and rolled pebbles. The color is very intense black, with beautiful purple reflections. Deep and complex on the nose, it reveals aromas of black currant, violet and spices as well as smoky notes. On the palate, it reveals all its richness and subtle dense tannins and aromas of black fruit such as cherry and black currant, accompanied by fine aging in barrels. This wine has a good aging potential, it will be ideal to drink over the next five years, accompanied by grilled red meat, a spicy dish, or a stew with character.
