Wine Review: This very opaque dark purple colored Petite opens with a smoky black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and very approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty black cherry with notes of dark chocolate throughout. There is also a dash of black pepper as well. The finish is rather dry and its moderate tannins build and generate some nice length. Our mini group thought this wine would pair well with a hearty meal like beef stew. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Inky-black, with unbridled richness, this Petite Sirah offers up deep, high-tone black fruits, chipped stone and violet characteristics. Grown in a chalkier block of the vineyard (Block 11) at 2.200 ft., this Petite Sirah is beautifully balanced with softer tannins which avoids shocking the palate.

Organic status: not organic

Clinking Glasses Before Tasting Wine: Originates from medieval times. Milk was often spoiled, water was often polluted. Wine was usually safe. The host would drink the wine first and then clink glasses with guests to show the wine was good and safe for drinking.
