Wine Review: This cloudy and dark ruby colored Zinfandel opens with a fragrant pomegranate and acai like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty red currant and plum blend with notes of pomegranate. I also detected some mild oak and black pepper in the blend. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors are nicely prolonged. This wine would pair well with lamb kabobs. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Our 2009 Sonoma Zin is from the beautiful Somers Vineyards in Dry Creek Valley and the 85 year old Crow Vineyard in Russian River Valley. The wine was kissed with a touch of Petite Sirah. Nicknamed the Sophisticate because it expresses the elegant side of Zinfandel, the wine has a sexy nose with anise, caramelized sugar, and spicy blackberry jam with a note of cherry cigar box. On the palate, strong vanilla, brooding fruit, spices of dark rum.. big flavors, yet refined and stylish. Balance of alcohol, fruit stuffing and acid...controlled Power
