Wine Review: It takes a lot of guts (and a lot of $) to pour a $150 bottle of wine all day long to the public at an event like the Boston Wine Expo. Kudos to the folks from Hentley Farm who shared such a great wine with us. This gem was pitch black and opaque and opens with a fragrant ripe blackberry bouquet with a hint of raisin. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well balanced, rich, and concentrated. The flavor profile is an extracted blackberry with notes of black pepper and black currant. The finish is rather dry and its wonderful long tannins sail on for close to a minute. This wine would be perfect on a cold winter's night with some sharp cheddar cheese cuddled up near the fireplace. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Opulent, complex and textured, Clos Otto is sourced from a single block of low-yielding Shiraz vines. Malolactic fermentation was completed in new French barriques, then the wine was matured over another 24 months. With impenetrable, saturated colour and an intense nose of liquorice, plum, prune, blackberry and oak, the same characters which then extend to the palate and are added to by dark chocolate, black berry and café au lait, lingering in a persistent finish.
