2009 Herdade do Esporao Portugal White "Verdelho"![]() Winery: Herdade do Esporao Vintage: 2009 Wine Name/Vineyard: "Verdelho" Wine Category: Portugal White Grape blend: 100% Verdelho Region: Alentejano State or country: Portugal Price: $15 Cases produced: 1,700 KWG Score: 89 (based on 2 reviews) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good (89) Review date: November 27, 2010 Wine Review: This pale yellow colored wine opens with a very fragrant and aromatic grapefruit bouquet with hints of green apple and fresh cut grass. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, round, and has slightly elevated acidity. The flavor profile is a ripe ruby grapefruit with just a few sprinkles of sugar on top. The finish is dry and refreshing. Our group thought it would be great to sip on or to serve with grilled swordfish with a lemon drizzle. Enjoy – Ken Winemaker Notes: Cristal clear, citric colour with green hues. Intense and complex aroma, with citric and tropical fruit notes suggesting nectarinas, manga and passionfruit. Fresh and elegant palate, with good fruit depth and cleansing acidity. Organic status: not organic Buy it: Use 1000 Corks to find stores that sell Esporao 2009 Verdelho.
