Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Lodi is a fruit bomb. It opens with a boysenberry, ash, and old oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and juicy. The flavor a ripe boysenberry and blackberry blend with hints of black pepper, minerality and oak in the background. The finish is dry and its flavors last for quite some time. This wine would be a nice sipper by the fireplace. It will also pair well with barbecue ribs. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Produced from a 100-year old vineyard, the 2010 vintage of Old Ghost is an exceptional wine that exudes explosive brambleberry flavors balanced with structure, elegance and finesse. The grapes harvested from this block are minuscule in yield and typically smaller in size, offering more "skin to flesh" resulting in higher tannins. The dense aromatics of berries and spice are coupled with the suggestion of a botanical garden, including mint, licorice, lavender and rosemary. This Old Ghost is not for the feint hearted and will command your attention.
