Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Malbec was my second favorite from a mini flight of lower priced Malbecs. It opens with a very mild black raspberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a very concentrated boysenberry with notes of black raspberry as well. The finish is dry and its building tannins are sticky and linger for a while. We did find that the fruit settled quickly with some air. So if you like big fruit drink it right way. If you prefer less fruit, decant it. Either way, serve it with a messy rack of barbecue ribs. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Vibrant red color with aromas of red cherries, raspberries, and violets wafting from the glass along with notes of toasty oak. On the palate, the fresh berry flavors mingle with spice notes and there’s a hint of soft caramel on the finish. This is a creamy, medium-bodied and well-structured wine that is incredibly full of life. Goes great with everything from hamburgers and chicken to pasta and mild cheeses.

Clinking Glasses Before Tasting Wine: Originates from medieval times. Milk was often spoiled, water was often polluted. Wine was usually safe. The host would drink the wine first and then clink glasses with guests to show the wine was good and safe for drinking.
