Wine Review: This Syrah was very popular in our mini tasting and it is by far the best deal. This very dark opaque purple colored Syrah from Argentina opens with a musty barnyard bouquet with notes of red raspberry peaking through. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty black raspberry with notes of spice. The group also detected notes of blueberry, oak, and coffee which lead to its complexity. The finish is dry and its moderate tingly tannins build up and stick around for quite a while. I felt this wine was a perfect match for my veal marsala. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Beautiful deep purple color, tilting the glass the shallows are a soft rose. The nose is like walking into a gentlemen’s poker parlor: aromas of cigar, leather, and smoked meat fill the nose with hints of toasty oak, forest floor and baking spice. Rich, lush, and mouthfilling on the palate. Well structured tannins support big fruit flavors of blackberry jam, black spiced cherries, ground black pepper and just a hint of rhubarb. Nice, long, lingering finish. L3—lush, long and loveable. Pairs well with grilled or smoked meats such as beef, pork, and lamb.
