Wine Review: We recently reviewed some Lodi Zins and this one was one of my favorites. This very dark ruby colored Zin opens with a boysenberry and black cherry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very nicely balanced, and juicy. This fruit bomb’s flavor profile is a delicious jammy ripe black raspberry and boysenberry. There were hints of mint picked up as well. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger nicely. This Zin would pair exceptionally well with barbecue short ribs. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Oblivious comes from vines that are nearly a century old located on the eastern edge of Lodi. It is one of the very few dry farmed vineyards in the appellation. The wine produced from these grapes is a block buster, a powerful expression of what Lodi has to offer when optimal growing and viticulture practices are followed. Be careful with this one though; at 16.1% alcohol it is one of the biggest wines we make at Macchia.
