Wine Review: This opaque is very dark purple colored wine opens with an attractive mild boysenberry bouquet with hints of cherry vanilla oak and black pepper. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty ripe black cherry and red raspberry blend with layers of acai and blueberry. The finish is rather dry and its jammy flavors and chalky tannins linger for a quite some time after the wine is gone. One reviewer thought it remaindered him of a Zin. So we both decided to recommend it with a messy rack of barbecue baby back ribs. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: A saturated and brilliant purple color, the 2009 Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley Proprietary Red Wine offers distinctive aromatics of blackberry, white pepper, and Earl Grey tea. On the rich mid-palate, layers of dark fruit and spice are framed by sweet, velvety tannins which lead to a long finish.
