Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Merlot from Merriam opens with a black currant and flint stone bouquet with a hint of black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, very smooth and seamless. The flavor profile is a tasty black currant and stone dust blend with notes of gentle oolong tea and black cherry. I also detected some hints of oak and black plum. The finish is dry and its moderate round tannins stick around for quite a while. I would pair this impressive Merlot with Roy’s rib roast. Enjoy - Ken
