Wine Review: This white gold colored Fume Blanc from Merriam opens with an apple and honeysuckle bouquet with hints of caramel and butterscotch custard. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and smooth. The flavor profile is caramel green apple and pineapple blend with notes of oak. We also detected hints of vanilla and melon. The finish is dry, and its flavors linger and last for quite a long time. This is a Sauvignon Blanc built for California Chard lovers. The Tasting Panel would pair this Fume with chicken and wild mushroom ravioli with a light cream sauce. Enjoy – KWGTP
