Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards opens with a faint graphite and red cherry bouquet with hints of roses and gardenia. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, very smooth and polished. The flavor profile is a stone dust, red licorice, and red plum blend with hints of fig, toasted oak, clove, and red raspberry. The finish is dry, and its well-managed tannins linger and last for quite some time. The Tasting Panel would pair this Pinot with rack of lamb or with grilled salmon. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The Georganne Vineyard, located on Westside Road in a warm spot overlooking the Russian River. If you close your eyes and savor the aroma of this wine, you might be able to see the yellow roses growing along the vine rows. Roses and other floral fragrances join sweet vanilla, cocoa, dark red fruit, plum and fig on the nose of this wine. Ripeness on the palate leads to layers of dark plum and black cherry, supported by supple tannins and mouthwatering acidity. The finish is long and lingering, just like the fragrance of fresh roses.
