Wine Review: This black cherry colored Pinot took a little while to fully open up, but when it did, the panel really enjoyed it. It opens with a mild red raspberry and black tea like bouquet with just a little bit of heat detected. On the palate, it is medium bodied, balanced, and shows pleasant acidity. The flavor profile is a blend of black cherry and black raspberry with lots of spice and black pepper. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are dusty and linger a bit. The panel would pair this Pinot with Steak au poivre or venison sausage. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Our 2008 Estate Pinot Noir shows notes of perfumy fruit (cherry, wild strawberry) that is accentuated with vanilla bean and spice (clove and star anise). A soft, supple and round entry, leads to a richly textured and silky mid-palate. Layers of complex fruit and oak notes are woven together, and the wine finishes with a seamless, lengthy finish. The wine will improve for five to seven years.
