Wine Review: This pale coral colored Rose from Mouton Cadet was friendly and pleasant. It opens with pear and strawberry scents on the nose. On the palate, it is light to medium bodied with some crisp acidity. We tasted strawberry and gooseberry flavors with nicely integrated minerality. We both felt that this would pair nicely with shellfish, particularly oysters on the half shell. Another option would be creamy brie with crusty French bread. – Stuart and Karen

Winemaker Notes: Le Rose de Mouton Cadet is a blend of traditional Bordeaux varieties: Merlot (53%) gives roundness and fruit, Cabernet Franc (20%) brings refinement and Cabernet Sauvignon (27%) the power and the structure typical of Bordeaux rose. A glittering pale pink. The very fresh nose opens on redcurrant, raspberry and pink grapefruit aromas, followed by cherry and herby garrigue notes which add to the wine's aromatic complexity. The attack displays the same freshness as the nose, with attractive fruit. The mid-palate consolidates the flavour of this already highly aromatic wine, bringing some additional citrus touches, while the finish lingers on very refreshing acidulated notes.
