Wine Review: This inky purple colored Merlot from Patrimony opens with a black cherry, black raspberry, and dark chocolate bouquet with hints moist tobacco, cedar, and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, layered, dense, and silky. The flavor profile is a graphite, mulberry, and black plum blend with notes of tobacco, oak, and espresso. We also detected hints of black currant, anise, and some earth tones. The finish is dry, and its well-managed refined tannins linger and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would certainly sip this Excellent Merlot by the fire pit. With food, we would pair it with a prime filet mignon. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Rich and opulent, this deeply colored 2020 Patrimony Merlot offers a vibrant nose of red currants, raspberry, and Toschi cherries. These juicy red fruits transfer to the palate alongside savory notes of wood smoke, tobacco, and baking spices nuanced by elegant undertones of dried fig and black pepper. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, this wine offers a super plush texture with ripe tannins and silky-fresh acidity. An impeccable synchronicity between aroma, flavor, and texture.
