Wine Review: This slightly opaque and ruby colored Cabernet Franc based blend from Virginia opens with a boysenberry and raspberry bouquet with hints of pencil shavings. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and smooth. The flavor profile is a juicy red plum and stony minerality blend with notes of cedar and oolong tea. I also detected hints of dried cherries and a touch of red currant towards the end. The finish is dry and its big and dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. I would recommend decanting this wine for a while before serving it with a well-marbled ribeye steak. Enjoy – Ken
