Wine Review: This top notch wine red blend was enjoyed by everyone at our table at Meritage Madness at the Boston Wine Festival. It is opaque and very dark purple colored. It opens with a fragrant ripe black cherry bouquet with a hint of cassis. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well balanced, and silky. The flavor profile is a ripe black cherry with notes of integrated boysenberry and just a hint of oak. The finish is dry and its velvety tannins sail on for some time. This elegant wine is a perfect choice for filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Quintessa 2008 opens with fragrant plum and raspberry aromas with notes of cola, clove and white chocolate rounding out a delicate perfume. The wine enters the palate with sweet red currant and plum fruit flavors and a silky mouthfeel. As it coats the mouth, concentrated dark fruit flavors emerge with succulent balanced tannins, a subtle impression of well-integrated oak and sweetness from the rich, ripe fruit. This vintage will gain complexity in the bottle and age gracefully for a decade and more. - Winemaker Charles Thomas
