Wine Review: This inky purple colored Petite Sirah from Biale opens with a blueberry bouquet with hints of red plum and smoke. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth and balanced. The flavor profile is a mild blueberry and fine gravel mineral blend with notes of oak and currant. The finish is dry and its well-managed tannins and flavors drift away nicely. This Petite Sirah would pair well with a New York strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2017 Royal Punishers has a deep, blackish blue color profile. Aromas of dusty currants, blueberry, quince, violets, figs, molasses, graphite and baked rye. The entry is weighty with a broad mid-palate structure which has layers of ripe, black fruit flavors. The oak profile is balanced and the tannins are mouthwatering and medium grained which hold the fruit profile and carry a long, lingering finish.
