Wine Review: This light yellow colored Semillon is perhaps the best Semillon, I have tried recently. It opens with a pear bouquet with a hint of honey, lemon, and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, balanced, and very friendly. The flavor profile is a very tasty and pleasant gentle Anjou pear with hints of stony minerality and apple. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors linger nicely. This is a very food friendly wine that would pair well with many foods. I would choose trout. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2009 vintage presented us an opportunity to produce very small batches of varietal Semillon – a white variety that is among our personal favorites for its delicacy and fruitiness. It has been vinified in the same style as our Pinot Blanc – zero time in oak barrels and no malo-lactic fermentation, which keeps the wine focused on its expression of fruit. Our Semillon has floral aromatic notes of honeysuckle, jasmine, and anise. Crisp acidity, light and lively on the palate with a long, clean finish. Pairs well with spicy foods. Limited-production item.
