Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Rodney Strong opens with a black currant and dark chocolate bouquet with hints of coconut flakes. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and supple. Its layered flavor profile features a black currant and cedar blend with notes of black licorice, toasted coconut, milk chocolate, and oolong tea. I also detected hints of Maine wild blueberry, cinnamon, and fine crushed stone. The finish is dry and its flavors and fine tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Cabernet with a filet mignon.
