Wine Review: This slightly opaque dark purple colored Cab finished in second place in our high end blind tasting. It opens with a fragrant black cherry and black raspberry bouquet with hints of menthol and vanilla oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, and satiny. The flavor profile is a tasty mild blackberry with notes of plum and dark chocolate. The panel also detected a dash of black pepper and a hint of oak as well. It was quite complex. The finish is quite dry and its well managed sticky tannins sail on for a very long time. The panel suggested pairing this gem with filet mignon at Grill 23. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The aromas on this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon are exactly true to Rutherford Cabernet; warm briary berries, dark juicy bing cherries, a touch of sweet black tea, a hint of woodsy oak leaf, the faintest whiff of cigar smoke, all revolving and recombining as the aromas evolve with time in the wineglass. On the palate, the flavors reflect what the aromas had promised, but with added textural elements of softly folded satin, bright fresh berry juice viscosity, and the vibrant, lively fruit flavors integrated into the vanilla/oak tones. The finishing impression is of cherries and dark raspberries complexed with warm spice and sweet earth notes. - Winemaker Celia Welch
