2006 Shafer Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon "One Point Five"![]() Winery: Shafer Vineyards Vintage: 2006 Wine Name/Vineyard: "One Point Five" Wine Category: Cabernet Sauvignon Grape blend: 99% Cabernet Sauvignon & 1% Petite Verdot Region: Stags Leap State or country: CA Price: $70 Cases produced: 9,500 KWG Score: 92.6 (based on 6 reviews) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good+ (91) Review date: September 2, 2009 Wine Review: This very dark purple colored Cab opens with a spicy mulberry bouquet with hints of strawberry licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very well balanced, extraordinarily smooth, and elegant. The flavor profile is a gentle black cherry with notes of cocoa and light coffee. The finish is dry and its very refined tannins are nicely prolonged. Pair this tasty Cab with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken Winemaker Notes: "Aromas of warm black fruit, cedar, chocolate, and dried herbs, followed by rich, juicy flavors of blackberry, dark chocolate, and tobacco, with a nice long finish. The tannins are ripe and supple." — ELIAS FERNANDEZ Organic status: not organic Subscribers: Have you tried this wine? Rate it.(Not a subscriber? Sign up.) | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
