Wine Review: This Pinot from Siduri hit a home run with the panel and recently won our mid-tier Pinot blind tasting. It is garnet colored and opens with a black raspberry bouquet with a hint of orange peel, leather, and smoky oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, and lip smacking. The flavor profile is a very tasty black raspberry with a hint of cherry, oak, pepper, and spice. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are well managed. The panel suggested this great value Pinot with grilled salmon or roasted pheasant with sage. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: We feel very confident that the 2009 Siduri Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is superior to what we believed was a fantastic 2008 blend simply because the vintage is so much better. The wine simply shows a bit more of everything, with typical Russian River flavors of cola, bing cherry and spice, along with great richness of black cherry and raspberry fruits, and a mouth filling, velvet texture. This wine is definitely ready to go right now, and should make superb drinking over the holiday season, but it should improve as well for two or more years.
