Wine Review: This medium garnet colored Red Blend from Smith Devereux opens with a black cherry and black licorice bouquet with hints of loam, pencil shaving, and blackberry. On the palate, this wine is medium minus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, lean, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a juicy red plum and tart cherry with notes of blackberry and cinnamon tea. We also picked up some hints of stony minerality, oak, and cranberry. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins stick around for a little while. There was a touch of heat peeking thru as well. The Tasting Panel would pair this Red Blend with a juicy bacon and sauteed mushroom burger or a with a cedar plank grilled salmon. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Our California Red Blend is the 3rd release in the Smith Devereux portfolio of wines and pays homage to the 3 founders of the winery. We also believe "3" is the magic number. This crowd-pleasing blend features ripe red fruit, blackberry pie, raspberry, dark chocolate, vanilla, toasty oak, crisp tannins, black pepper, and vineyards dust (graham cracker).
