Wine Review: This opaque dark ruby colored Cab shows off a classic South African style. It opens with a smoky black currant bouquet with hints of must and coffee. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is an oak integrated black currant with hints of black pepper and licorice. The finish is dry and its building tannins stick around for quite some time. The panel thought this wine would pair well with beef bourguignon. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: 2006 was a fairly warm, dry vintage, but without the excessive heat spikes that we experienced in the previous two years. When we harvested, the grapes were in good condition and required only a minimum of sorting. At less than a year after bottling, it shows less of the floral notes than are typical from this vineyard, but it has quite pure cabernet cassis and black currant flavours and an extremely plush, rich texture complemented by very soft tannins. A real crowd pleaser.
