Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Merlot from South Africa was our 3rd place finisher in our big blind tasting of mid-tier Merlots. It opens with a green pepper, leather, and smoky bacon bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and silky. The flavor profile is an oak infused plum with a hint of black cherry and green pepper. The finish is dry and its sticky oak tannins linger for quite some time. This wine would pair well with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: This classy, supple-textured Merlot charms with enticing aromas and flavors of red berries, black currant, and plum. Subtle hints of tobacco, earth, and mint and a sexy, smoky quality make it an ideal partner for lamb chops and grilled meats.
