Wine Review: This very dark purple colored Zinfandel from V. Sattui is a bit of a fruit bomb. It opens a little shy with a mild strawberry and black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a ripe black raspberry and red currant jam blend with a touch of black pepper and oak. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins build up and stick around for a while. The panel suggested pairing this Zin with a messy rack of fatty barbecue ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP

Cork Lore: A cork tree must be at least 25 years old before its bark can be harvested the first time, but it cannot be used for wine stoppers until the third harvest. Cork trees can be stripped of their bark no more than every 9 to 12 years. In one harvest, enough cork is removed from the average tree to make 4,000 wine stoppers.
