2008 Au Bon Climat Chardonnay "Santa Barbara County"![]() Winery: Au Bon Climat Vintage: 2008 Wine Name/Vineyard: "Santa Barbara County" Wine Category: Chardonnay Grape blend: 100% Chardonnay Region: Santa Barbara County State or country: CA Price: $20 Cases produced: unknown KWG Score: 88.5 (based on 2 reviews) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good (89) Review date: September 22, 2009 Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chard opens with a mild apple like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and crisp. The flavor profile is a tasty green apple and Meyer lemon with a faint hint of very light oak. The finish is dry and very refreshing. This wine was very well received by our friends at dinner. It paired perfectly with our halibut at the Wishing Well Restaurant in Saratoga, NY. Enjoy - Ken Winemaker Notes: Burgundian in sensibility but with California style is one way of describing Jim Clendenen's Chardonnays- Citrus, stone fruit, smooth, and integrated flavors, creamy and tense, with apricot, apple, and lemon nuances. Barrel fermented and aged in French oak. Organic status: not organic Buy it: Use 1000 Corks to find stores that sell Au Bon Climat 2008 Chardonnay. Subscribers: Have you tried this wine?
