Wine Review: This easy drinking South African Chardonnay is a medium golden yellow color. It has a fragrant bouquet of pineapple, apple peel, baking spice, wet river rock along with notes of banana and vanilla caramel. On the palate, it is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and round. There are flavors of lime, green apple, butterscotch, oak, and a hint apricot. A bit of spice on the finish, which lingers with good acidity. Winemaker Notes: Distinctive fresh citrus characters, green apple and pear notes are evident on the nose and palate. An extended and elegant aftertaste is supported by crisp acid and finely grained tannins. The water-bending method for barrels prepares the oak for toasting in a way that results in a softer mouthfeel.
