Wine Review: This pale-yellow colored Chardonnay from J. Lohr opens with a mild lemon custard bouquet with hints of faint pineapple and green apple. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, seamless and very approachable. The flavor profile is a chalky minerality and gentle Anjou pear blend with notes of gentle green apple and light pineapple. I also picked up some hints of white peach and faint light oak in the after taste. The finish is dry and nicely extended. I would pair this versatile and very food friendly Chard with a chilled crab cocktail. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2022 October Night Chardonnay displays exotic floral aromas of gardenia, Meyer lemon, ripe apple, and baking spices. Traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques, such as malolactic fermentation and weekly stirring of the lees in French oak barrels, were used to complement these aromatics. A perfect pairing with crab cakes, halibut with Meyer lemon and capers, or citrus-herbed chicken.
