Wine Review: This slightly cloudy pale-yellow colored Chardonnay from Paul Hobbs opens with a fragrant pear, vanilla, and almond bouquet with hints of cantaloupe, butterscotch and rose petals. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, rich, smooth, and lush. The flavor profile is a very tasty butterscotch and poached pear blend with notes of caramel, vanilla, and oak. We also detected some hints of pineapple, apricot, and green apple. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity are very nicely extended. The Tasting Panel would pair this tasty Chard with lobster bisque topped with a sherry drizzle. Enjoy – KWGTP
