| 2009 Stonestreet Chardonnay "Upper Barn" Winery: Stonestreet Vintage: 2009 Wine Name/Vineyard: "Upper Barn" Wine Category: Chardonnay Grape blend: 100% Chardonnay Region: Alexander Valley State or country: CA Price: $65 Cases produced: 192 KWG Score: 95 (based on 4 reviews) Ken's Wine Rating: Excellent (94) Review date: December 14, 2011 Wine Review: This rich yellow colored Chardonnay is always one of my favorite Chardonnays each year. This year it opens with an attractive lemon custard bouquet with a hint of oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and elegant. The flavor profile is a very tasty mild oak infused pear with hints of butterscotch, honey, and a touch of lime. The finish is dry and it delicious flavors linger for quite some time after it’s gone. I would pair this elegant Chardonnay with chicken and wild mushroom ravioli with a butter cream sauce. Enjoy – Ken Winemaker Notes: One of our most profound sites is situated at 1,800 feet. The rocky, shallow site is exposed and straddles a high ridgeline. The wine from Upper Barn is known for its complexity and hedonistic texture. It reveals itself in luscious layers with each subsequent swirl and sniff in the glass.
