Wine Review: We recently visited the Adirondack Winery tasting room in Lake George New York. Alyssah was our server and she showed us a varied spectrum of their wines. We settled on reviewing the dry-styled Riesling from the Finger Lakes region. This clear and pale straw-colored Riesling opens with a lime and passion fruit bouquet with hints of green tea and lemon zest. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and round. The flavor profile is a green tea and quince blend with notes of almond and chalky minerality. I also detected hints of ginger ale and saline. The finish is dry and refreshing. Serve this dry Riesling slightly chilled with fried scallops. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This year's vintage underwent a longer, slower fermentation at cooler temperatures to achieve a clean, crisp finished profile. Moderately full-bodied and refreshingly crisp, this Dry Riesling offers notes of tropical fruit and peach with bright acidity and a lightly spicy finish. It’s fresh, clean, and incredibly easy to pair with food. This wine pairs with Asian cuisine, shellfish, white meat poultry, and dishes with citrus based sauces.
