Wine Review: This clear and platinum colored Pinot Gris from Elk Cove opens with a poached Bartlett pear and green apple bouquet with hints of wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and slightly viscous. The flavor profile is a poached pear and passion fruit blend with notes of stony minerality and saline. I also detected hints of mild yellow grapefruit and lime zest. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. I would pair this Pinot Gris with a turkey pot pie. Enjoy -
