Wine Review: This clear and ruby colored Merlot based wine from Clos des Abbesse opens with a fragrant raspberry and cedar closet bouquet with hints of bramble and strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, well-textured, and layered. The flavor profile is a tobacco and red and black fruit blend with notes of graphite and plum. I also detected hints of gentle orange bell pepper and cedar. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins build-up and last for quite some time. I would pair this red blend with a cassoulet. Enjoy - Ken & Mark
