Wine Review: This hazy and medium ruby red colored Carignane based blend from Post & Vine opens with an inviting mild oak and gentle black raspberry bouquet with hints of cedar, chocolate, and a touch of oolong tea. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, very smooth, plush, and seamless. The flavor profile is a juicy red plum and black tea blend with notes of oak, black currant, and stony minerality. We also detected hints licorice, dried herbs, and dried black cherry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and slightly dusty tannins are nicely extended. We would pair this red blend with a slow cooked beef brisket platter or with a porchetta. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Interview Series – Stephen Cruzan of Lasseter – April 2026

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, we had the opportunity to interview Stephen Cruzan again. However, this time Stephen is at a new winery. We interviewed Stephen in July of 2023 when he was the winemaker at Titus. Now Stephen is the winemaker for Lasseter. During the interview we covered three white wines. A 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, a 2023 Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon blend, and a 2023 Chardonnay. On the red side we covered a 2021 Merlot, a 2023 Malbec, a 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, and finally their 2021 and 2023 Syrah’s from Moon Mountain. On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, we interviewed Melissa Stackhouse once again. Melissa is the Winemaker at Dutton Goldfield. During the interview, we covered the winery’s 2025 vintage Pinot Blanc and one of their single-vineyard 2023 Chardonnay wines.
