Wine Review: This clear and white gold colored Chardonnay from Gary Farrell and the Rochioli Vineyard is very good. It opens with a faint white peach and toasted almond bouquet with hints of limoncello, Easter lily, and gardenia. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, delicate, clean, crisp, and polished. The flavor profile is a peach and gentle light oak blend with notes of chamomile tea and pineapple. We also detected hints of nectarine, flinty minerality, and marzipan. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. We would pair this food friendly Chard with a braised rabbit with a tarragon, mustard, bacon, and cream sauce. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Vibrant, zesty aromas of ripe peach, orange blossom, dandelion & galangal tempt the palate, with undertones of cedar box adding complexity and depth. Vivacious and power-packed with flavors of Asian pear, kumquat, lemon basil and fresh apricot. Intensely textured, with a long, tingly finish of succulent acidity and flint-like minerality. A gorgeous and exceptionally age-worthy wine from an iconic vineyard.
