Wine Review: This clear and pale straw-colored Riesling from Robert Weil opens with a mild grapefruit and Vaseline bouquet with hints of stony minerality, Sprite, and green apple. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, bright, and a bit zesty. The flavor profile is a green apple and lemon-lime blend with notes of green tea and pink grapefruit. We also detected hints of white peach, mandarin orange, and saline. The finish is off-dry, and its flavors and acidity fade away nicely. We would pair this refreshing Riesling with broiled scallops or with a lemon garlic shrimp risotto. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: A delightfully lively and charming Riesling from Germany’s Rhine valley, made in the delicate, lower-alcohol Kabinett style. It is sourced from cooler, higher-elevation parcels adjacent to the estate’s classified single-vineyard sites. But it also includes fruit from pre-selections in the top sites, which gives the wine an extra dimension of fruit and mineral intensity. The Riesling Kabinett is light and lovely, with lush exotic fruit aromas and a poised balance of bright acidity and lacy natural sweetness.

Winemaker Interview Series – Stephen Cruzan of Lasseter – April 2026

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, we had the opportunity to interview Stephen Cruzan again. However, this time Stephen is at a new winery. We interviewed Stephen in July of 2023 when he was the winemaker at Titus. Now Stephen is the winemaker for Lasseter. During the interview we covered three white wines. A 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, a 2023 Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon blend, and a 2023 Chardonnay. On the red side we covered a 2021 Merlot, a 2023 Malbec, a 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, and finally their 2021 and 2023 Syrah’s from Moon Mountain. Winemaker Interview Series – Melissa Stackhouse of Dutton Goldfield - April 2026

On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, we interviewed Melissa Stackhouse once again. Melissa is the Winemaker at Dutton Goldfield.
